Portraits & Lifestyle

'It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter' - Alfred Eisenstaedt

'It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like,
it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.' - Paul Caponigro

Portraits have been around for thousands of years dating back to the ice age. They have been portrayed in all sorts of forms from sculptures to paintings and now today in various styles of photography. I prefer to capture people who are acting naturally and are relaxed in their surroundings, people just being themselves.

My studio is the great outdoors. Living close to the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire there are many stunning backdrops to choose from, although the choice will be yours of course, whether it is the countryside, the beach or somewhere special to you.

How long will it take? I firmly believe it should not be rushed, so set aside at least two to three hours and be prepared to have a fun time. Before the day of your shoot we will have had a game of  ‘chat tennis’ so you can get to know me a little better and I can get a feel for your personality and what you want to achieve. I am very easy going and really above all else just want you and/or your family to enjoy themselves.

We will also have discussed your favoured locations and the types of clothing best suited to compliment your day. It is my recommendation that you bring along two or three outfits which will give us various options on the day. We will have plenty of time for snack breaks and young ones to play, so it might be a good idea to bring snacks and your child's favourite toys or even go the whole hog and bring a picnic box and blanket!

Wherever you choose to have your portraits taken I will carefully select a place for you or your family to relax and be yourself that will result in beautiful images that reflect your personality and identity.

At the end of the session you will forget you have actually had your portraits taken and just remember what a good time you have had in creating them.

The session fee of £75 is payable on booking and all images will be professionally edited to give you the ultimate viewing experience. We will arrange a mutually convenient date after the shoot to view the images together. Finished products are then available for purchase from £125 upwards for professionally mounted frames, timeless canvas and contemporary acrylic formats along with the option of a story book album as the perfect keepsake, prices from £395.

Thanks for taking the time to view my site and if you feel I can help you create some beautiful memories then please give me a call, even if it is only for a friendly chat.
